The café’s indoor lounge is where the day in Matera takes shape. A cosy, well-kept space, reserved exclusively for our guests, where breakfast becomes your first encounter with the region.
Every morning we prepare homemade tarts in several varieties, homemade cakes with fresh, wholesome produce and seasonal fresh juices. The selection changes according to the availability of local ingredients.
The star is Pane di Matera: made with grains grown on the hills around Matera and in the neighbouring towns, produced according to a tradition that combines the quality of the ingredients with a slow, respectful process. Alongside the bread, typical specialities of Matera’s cuisine complete an offer that is not simply a breakfast, but a Lucanian brunch designed to start the day with the authentic flavours of Basilicata.
